Impairment in speech that originates from lesions in the brain is emerging as a novel feature of cognitive evaluation in identifying preclinical or incipient Alzheimer’s disease (AD). An atrophy pattern of the brain regions affected due to the speech deficits could be used as a novel diagnostic feature to identify AD before any symptoms appear.
