SUMMARY:Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Modern Agriculture: The Future of the Smart Farming
DESCRIPTION:  \nREGISTER Here \n Bioinformatics Workshop 2026 For High School Students^\n^(Students with higher degree can also register) \nArtificial Intelligence (AI) in Modern Agriculture: \nThe Future of the Smart Farming  \nInstructor: Dr. Sumaya Sanober\, Ph.D.\nDepartment of Computer Science\nOld Dominion University\nNorfolk\, VA\, USA \n                                                     Online Program | Every Sunday | July 5 to August 9\, 2026 \n                                                    11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EST)\n                                                      8:30 PM to. 9:30 PM (IST) \nAmerican Society of Science Engineering and Technology (ASSET) presents “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Modern Agriculture: The Future of Smart Farming\,” a six-session program offered as part of the ASSET Bioinformatics Workshop 2026 series. Scheduled from July 5 to August 9\, 2026\, this course is designed especially for school students\, but students with higher degree\, educators\, and professionals interested can also participate this course in understanding how AI is revolutionizing agriculture and to make aI in Agriculture as their careers. Participants will explore smart farming\, precision agriculture\, drones\, IoT\, data analytics\, sustainable farming technologies\, and real-world problem-solving while gaining insight into exciting STEM and agriculture-related career opportunities. \n“Anyone Passionate about AI\, Technology\, and the Future of Agriculture is Warmly Welcome to Join” \nAbout the Course\nAI in Modern Agriculture: The Future of Smart Farming\nAI is helping farmers grow more food with less effort\, less water\, and fewer chemicals. AI-powered tools can monitor crop health\, predict weather conditions\, detect pests and diseases early\, and recommend the right amount of water and fertilizer for each field. Smart farming uses technologies such as drones\, sensors\, robots\, satellite images\, and data analytics to help farmers make better decisions. These tools can increase crop yields\, reduce costs\, save natural resources\, and improve farm productivity. In the future\, AI-enabled farms will be able to automatically monitor crops\, identify problems before they become serious\, and optimize farming practices in real time. Smart farming will make agriculture more efficient\, sustainable\, and profitable while helping feed a growing global population. \nSimply put\, integrating AI into agriculture leverages advanced technology to optimize crop vitality\, maximize farmer profitability\, and promote ecological sustainability. \nLearning Outcomes\nBy the end of this course\, students will be able to:\n1.Explain the role of AI in modern agriculture.\n2. Describe how sensors\, drones\, robotics\, and data analytics support farming.\n3. Interpret agricultural data to make informed decisions.\n4. Understand sustainable and climate-smart farming practices.\n5. Design a simple AI-based solution to an agricultural challenge.\n6. Present scientific findings effectively.\n7. Explore career pathways in AI\, agriculture\, engineering\, and data science. \nFees (*Early Bird – 50% Discount Until 30th June  2026)\nHigh School Students (H)        – $ 150* or Equivalent Currency for Non-US Students\nUndergraduate Students (U)    – $ 200*                                  ”\nMaster (M) or Doctrate (D)       – $ 250*                                  ”\nSchool Package (50 students)  – $ 5\,000*                               ”\nCollege package (50 students) – $ 6\,000*                               ”\nASSET Members: H-$75\, U-$100\, M/D -$125                        ”\nASSET Member Institutions     – $0                                        – \n\nAI Session Ad-Membership_US_19Jun26\n\n1st Session (Week 1)\nIntroduction to Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence\nTopics: *What is Agriculture? – *Feeding a Growing Population – *Challenges in Modern Farming – *Introduction to Artificial Intelligence – *Machine Learning Basics – *AI Applications in Everyday Life – *AI in Food Production Systems – *Future of Smart Farming\n\n2nd Session (Week 2)\nPrecision Agriculture and Smart Farming Data\nTopics: *What is Precision Agriculture? – *Data-Driven Farming – *Sensors and IoT in Agriculture – *Weather Monitoring Systems – *Soil Health Monitoring – *GPS and Smart Mapping – *Introduction to Agricultural Data\n\n3rd Session (Week 3)\nDrones\, Robotics\, and Automation in Agriculture\nTopics: *Agricultural Robotics – *Farm Automation – *Drones for Crop Monitoring – *Computer Vision Basics – *Autonomous Tractors – *Smart Irrigation Systems – *Agricultural Technology Careers\n\n4th Session (Week 4)\nAI for Crop Prediction and Decision Making\nTopics: *Introduction to Predictive Analytics – *Crop Yield Prediction – *Disease Detection Systems – *Pest Monitoring – *Weather Forecasting Models – *AI-Based Decision Support Systems – *Sustainable Agriculture\n5th Session (Week 5) \nClimate-Smart Agriculture and Sustainability\nTopics: *Climate Change and Agriculture – *Sustainable Farming Practices – *Water Resource Management – *Carbon Footprint in Agriculture – *AI for Environmental Monitoring – *Food Security and Global Challenges – *\n\n6th Session (Week 6)\nResearch\, Innovation\, and Future Careers\nTopics: *Conducting Agricultural Research – *Scientific Communication – *Creating Effective Posters – *Presenting Research Findings – *College and Career Pathways – *USDA Opportunities – *Agricultural Engineering – *Data Science and AI Careers – *Entrepreneurship in Agriculture\n\n7th Session (Week 7)\nASSET Quiz\, Guest Speaker & Certificates\nRecap of the AI in Modern Agriculture (AIMA) Course\nAIMA Quiz* (Winners $100\, $75\, $50\, $25\, $15 and $10 for 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd \, 4th\, 5th and 6th to 10 places\, respectively\, and a Certificate of Completion from ASSET)\n\n\nNote: To qualify for “AIMA ASSET  Online Quiz”\, students must attend all six (6) sessions. \nGuest Speaker:\nUSDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Official or National Institute of Health Official or University Personnel (Yet to be Determined) \n\n\nWorkshop Pre-requisite:\n* Knowledge of STEM\n* Provide your complete information.
