The deficit in face-recognition (detection, identification, gaze and expressions) collectively known as face blindness or prosopagnosia demonstrated by Alzheimer’s patients is emerging as a novel feature for the evaluation of cognition in identifying preclinical or incipient Alzheimer’s disease. Here, I identify a pattern of the brain regions involved in face blindness as a novel diagnostic feature to identify Alzheimer’s disease before any clinical symptoms even become evident. Further, a facial recognition diagnostic test using similar features could diagnose Alzheimer’s disease even earlier
